Using SmartCapture by Scanning Barcode Document

SmartCapture can also be used to process documents that contain barcodes, allowing you to automatically extract barcode data during the scanning process.

This is especially useful for workflows involving forms, ID tags, inventory lists, or shipping documents, where barcodes are used to encode important information such as:

Document IDs

Customer numbers

Product codes

Using the Preset Barcode Scan Button

For your convenience, a dedicated scan button has been preconfigured for barcode document scanning.

In this example, we use the scanner button labeled “4 Barcode File Naming.”

To customize this button’s behavior:

Right-click the button in the SmartScan application.

In the settings menu, you can:

Adjust scan parameters (e.g., resolution, color mode)

Configure barcode recognition options

Rename the button or update its description

These settings can be changed at any time to suit your specific barcode scanning workflow.
