SmartCapture can process documents containing barcodes and automatically extract barcode data during scanning.
Barcode data, including document IDs, customer numbers, and product codes, can be captured from forms, ID tags, inventory lists, and shipping documents.
This guide uses the preconfigured scanner button 4 Barcode File Naming as an example.

Verify an Export Option. |
|
|
Verify that Folder is selected as the export option. Note: Documents sent directly to email or other applications cannot be processed. |

|
|
Verify the Output Folder location. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
By default, scanned documents are saved to the configured output folder (C:\Users\User\Documents\Barcode). If needed, you can change the folder location or name. |

|
|
Enable Open File Explorer when complete to quickly access scanned files. |
|
|
Easy to review scanned files or prepare them for SmartCapture processing. |
|
|
|
|
Verify the Output Folder location. |
|
|
Set a folder name for saving scanned and extracted files. It will be created under the Step 4 path. For more details, please see Output Options for Scanned Documents. |

|
Return to the Home screen and start scanning. Verify the scanner is connected by checking that a Plustek scanner model is displayed. |

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Adjust the scanned images as needed (e.g., crop, rotate, or delete pages). When finished, click Next to continue to data extraction. |

|
|
|
When OCR is complete, SmartCapture opens automatically in a new window to extract and display the scanned data. |
