You can easily tell the difference between the OpticFilm 7400 and OpticFilm 7600i models: the OpticFilm 7400 is dark blue and both OpticFilm 7600i models are black. However, the most important difference is inside the scanner. Both OpticFilm 7600i models have a built in infrared imaging channel.

This infrared channel is used in conjunction with the included SilverFast iSRD software to automatically remove dust, defects and scratches from scanned images.

SilverFast iSRD is a hardware based function for removing the defects on the film. The scanner’s infrared channel detects and identifies dust and scratches while scanning and SilverFast iSRD removes these defects.

Because the infrared channel and SilverFast iSRD automatically detect and correct dust and defects during scanning, you save hours of post scan retouching and manual correction when compared with the conventional dust and scratch removal technology.

The Plustek OpticFilm 7600i scanners and SilverFast iSRD are the ideal tool for making your digital images look better than the originals with the least amount of effort!

The OpticFilm 7400 uses SilverFast SRD to remove defects. This method only uses software to identify and remove defects and works well in many cases. However, it is not as accurate as the infrared defect removal of the OpticFilm 7600i series scanners.
