EZ BookScan Center

The EZ BookScan Center is a walk-up book and document scanning solution designed with libraries in mind. The EZ BookScan Center is fast, easy to use and eliminates spine shadow and distortions commonly created by copiers and traditional flatbed scanners. The system includes Kiosk-style software for scanning and automatic OCR text conversion. The EZ BookScan Center also includes a large color touch screen monitor, and a high performance PC with Windows 7 Professional software at no additional cost.

Book spine shadow and distorted text associated with traditional copying is distracting and causes errors when creating PDFs from the scanned material. Thanks to this patented technology, book pages lay completely flat on the scanning bed and allow the object to be scanned right up to the spine of the book. The result is clear images with no spine shadow.

The EZ BookScan Center is simple to use. The touch screen guides patrons through each step in the scanning process. No training or librarian’s help is needed

Scan 12”x17” materials at a resolution of 300 DPI color mode in 2.5 sec, minimizing wait time. This is the fastest archival scanning in its class, allowing more patrons to use the system during busy hours.

Integrated imaging technology specially designed for book and document scanning ensures the EZ BookScan Center will produce high quality images of books, bound materials and documents.

The optional SmartOffice PS 406 is a 40 page per minute, duplex color document scanner that is not only fast, it's reliable and cost effective. The BookScan Center’s Touch Screen and Kiosk software is completely integrated and compatible for seamless operation with the PS406.  The result is a total scanning solution to replace old copier technology with a color digital scanning, copying, and printing solution.

The EZ BookScan Center features integrated Pay-per-Scan software making it easy to integrate with any scan or print payment requirements. Just a touch of the screen is needed to send images to almost any electronic file destination:

Scan to USB allows you to easily scan and save directly to a portable USB drive. This allows patrons to save their scanned items in electronic format and eliminates unnecessary printing.

Scan to Email is an easy way for patrons to send scanned images as attachments directly to any email address.

Scan to network folder enables patrons to save scanned images to network attached storage devices and shared locations. This is a beneficial feature for university and research libraries.
