This is an applicationconflict case. The all-in-one scanner/printer shares the same system resource that OpticFilm scanner would require.

Inputting the image file with scanner / scanning software is a decisive phase for image quality.

The SilverFast would handle everything (i.e, scan and adjustment) in 48-bit mode. And after everything is done, it would output the file in 24-bit in SilverFast SE (48 to 24 bit mode). If you use SilverFast Ai, you can opt for 48-bit output. In this way, image quality can be preserved in the best approach.

A simply rule to keep in mind: stay with scanning application as long as possible to get the best image quality.

Microsoft has completely changed the infrastructure and plug-in for its new MSN Messenger 7.0. Due to this change, OptiCam M1 Cockpit-MSN will not work with MSN Messenger 7.0. M1 users who wish to upgrade to Messenger 7.0 may still use M1 with its Cockpit software, but cannot use the remote control features offered by Cockpit-MSN.

How do I use USB scanners with NOTEBOOKS and DESKTOPS?

Test the USB port in the computer by using other USB devices, e.g., USB Hub or connect the scanner to another USB port of the computer to verify whether the problem is in the USB port of computer or not.

If the scanner still doesn’t work after changing to another USB port of the computer or if other devices plugged in the initial USB port of the computer don’t work,the problem is in the computer, not in the scanner. Please contact your computer vendor to resolve the problem or update the BIOS. <

It issaid that a MB with VIA chipset might not be compatible with some USB scanners. Is this true?

Do Plustek full series scanners support Windows XP ?

It's not a good idea. A USB Hub is necessary.

Capture the image on the screen and store it in your computer . The image to be captured must be on the top window. Press the button "Print Screen / Sys Rq" on keyboard. Launch Image Editing Software .(e.g. PhotoShop ; PhotoImpact ; Imaging etc.) Click on File. Click on New. Set Image Width x Height ( 800 x 600 ), unit is pixels, resolution does not change, mode is RGB Color , Contents is White. Click on OK. Click on Edit. Click on Paste. Now the image on screen is captured. Click on File. Click on Save a Copy. Define saved location. Set File Name. Extension name select JPEG / JPG (smaller file size can save your H/D space). Click on Save. Image Options : Quality select 1 ( Low ). Format Options : do not change. Click on OK.

Check the film to make sure that it is in good quality and not damaged by friction.

Because the scanner you buy belongs to mid-low end scanners, the quality of images is limited. If you need professional quality of images, a high end scanner is necessary.

A network camera is a stand-alone system that connects directly to an Ethernet or Internet directly and supported by the wireless transmission based on the IEEE 802.11b and/or g standard. It is quite different from the conventional PC or web Camera. The Internet Camera is an all-in-one system with built-in CPU, Web Server, Mail Server, FTP Server, DDNS and web-based Graphic User Interface that can transmit high quality video images for monitoring, and it can be managed remotely, accessed and controlled from any PC/Notebook over an Intranet or Internet via a web browser.

The network camera is recommended to work with your PC or network that meets the following requirements:

The Standard effective length per RJ-45 cable is 100m, and you can add a Hub per 100m extensions, up to a maximum of 480m.

You need pay more attention about the length of account and password, which you get from the related websites, because network camera has prescribed the length of them. (3~16 char)

There are two reasons why a user will be refused to access.

1. Check that your Router and network camera are not both also using EXTERNAL / WAN port 80.  If it is, change one to another EXTERNAL / WAN port. How to adjust the port number in your Router; please inquire your network administrator or the user guide for the Router. I just take the D-link Router setting for example.

Once, you have activated the remote management in your Router, the port between your camera and the Router should not be crashed.

2. If you changed Network camera default HTTP port 80 to another-- port 8081.  Then you will have to redirect your web browser by typing http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: 8081 where http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is Network camera IP address.

Pressing the Factory Default button on the front panel for more than 5s will reset all of the settings in the network camera. This means that the whole unit must then be re-configured, event types must be recreated, etc. Pressing the Restore button, however, will save the IP address, the subnet mask, the default router and the unit's MAC/Ethernet address.
You should be able to feel the button go down only a fraction of an inch (don't press too hard).

The Search tool will only find cameras that are on the same subnet while your computer running the Search tool program. If they are not on the same subnet there will be no camera listed in the Search tool window.

Example:
If your computer is on 192.168.1.x, your camera will also have to be on the 192.168.1.x subnet. If it is on 192.168.9.x the Search tool won’t find the camera.

Sorry. We don’t afford this function. We are now making further improvement, and I figure in the future you will see this function in our company’s another program ActvieView enclosed with the CD-ROM or download from our website.

Although I can access the camera perfectly fine on local area network and view video, the problem is when I'm trying to access it behind a Router - the first page comes up (Slowly) and allows me to enter username and password - then nothing - no error - nothing appears. For information I've set up at least 6 different makes of IP cameras in this way with these Routers - so I know that the NAT redirection works.

In order to set up the different cameras, ports on the WAN IP need to be individually mapped to the internal camera IP addresses. Assuming there are 5 cameras they may be mapped according to the table below. This example assumes that the home Router can map one port number to another IP addresses port number (e.g. having port 80 of all the cameras mapped to different ports on the WAN). On some Routers (e.g. some Linksys) this is not possible. Then the user must configure the local cameras so that they use the same port number as the external port number. This is found under Plustek network camera Center | Network Settings in the cameras configuration menu. Once changed, it is not possible to access the cameras using the default HTTP port and the user will always be required to use the new port number as in the table below:

Many Internet Service Providers (ISP's) block incoming traffic on port 80 (to prevent clients from running bandwidth intensive services). Try mapping another port above 7000 and see if this helps.

There are many factors that will block the DDNS server to resolve and some unprofessional domain name is unstable. If you want it to be more stable, you can apply for professional user or update it manually over the DDNS website.

That's a serious problem-"port conflict". You have open up "Remote control" in your router, which also takes up port 80. If you want to access network camera from the Internet via configuring the NAT on your Router, you should pay more attention about some ports that will conflict with some other application program. 1.	Rest your mouse on My Computer on the desktop and right-click the mouse
2.	Choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
3	On the shown control panel, click on the Hardware tab.

6.	If the scanner is not installed properly, there will be a question mark or exclamation mark before the scanner model name. Rest your mouse on the scanner model name and right-click the mouse, select Uninstall to uninstall the scanner.
7.	After the uninstallation finish, switch on the scanner power and the computer will detect the scanner causing the "Add New Hardware Wizard". Follow the on-screen instructions to re-install the scanner.

Solution 1:
Make sure that the cables are connected tightly and to the proper port and turn on the scanner power. Only when you see the icon shown on the Windows system tray, the scanner connection status is OK

If you don't see the icon appear in the system tray, click on Windows Start menu, point to Program (The scanner model name) and select Action Express to launch Action Express program.

Close all the other applications that are running in your computer, or to reduce the resolution when you scan.

It's probable your Windows Background has been set to "Extend". Right-click anywhere on the Windows desktop and choose Properties from the pop-up menu. Point to the Background tab and then adjust the Picture Display setting

Text Scan is in effect most useful for B/W text pages, whereas JPG (JPEG) file format does not support B/W mode. Therefore, for Text Scan images saved as *.JPG, Book Pilot program will actually scan book pages in grayscale and then convert images into B/W before saving them into JPG files. That's why its file size is relatively higher than what you expect for an usual B/W image.

Since the margin allowances for printing devices in the market are diverse, it's very possible that the output preview (bordless) on OptiCopy is different from the default margin of your printing devices. Therefore, the printing output can only contain the maximum number of image that is allowed in the margin of your printing devices. Please consult the user manual of your copy machine/printer about changing printing margin

The display of Book Pilot interface depends on your Windows display resolution. Please right-click your mouse when it's placed on the desktop and choose Properties from the pop-up menu. A control panel will show up. Choose Settings tab on the control panel, and adjust the Screen area to 1024 by 768 pixels

When you place a book on the scanner glass, especially a thick book, please gently press the book binder to guarantee the minimum space between the to-be-scanned page the scanner glass.

Unfortunately, OpticBook 3600 DOES NOT support Window 2003 Server OS at the moment.

1.	Click on the Windows Start button, point to Programs > Business card Recognition Software and then click Business card Recognition Software to launch the Business card Recognition Software.
2.	From the Main Toolbar, click Settings > Acquire Options > Flatbed/TWAIN Scan, and then click Settings > Acquire Options > Select Flatbed/TWAIN Scanner.  Select this scanner and click OK.
3	Within Business card Recognition Software, click   from the main toolbar.
4	In the TWAIN window that opens, select ADF (Front Side) as the Scan Type if you want to scan single-sided business cards, or select ADF (Duplex) to scan double-sided business cards.
5	Adjust the scanning settings (Paper Size: Automatic Size, Resolution: 300).  For ADF (Duplex) scan, you can tailor settings individually for front and rear sides of the business cards.  Click Front Side button to adjust the scanning settings of front side and then click Rear Side button to adjust the scanning settings of rear side.
6.	Load one business card and click the Preview button.  The scanned image should appear in the Preview Window.  To define the margins and crop out sections of the image you don't want scanned, use the mouse to click and drag the corners or sides of the scan area borders.  Adjust the scan settings again if the preview image is not to your liking.
7.	Load all business cards and click the Scan button.
8.	The scanned images are displayed in the software main window, and you may proceed OCR to convert images into editable text formats.

Symptom: The scanner cannot scan.
Solution 1	Inspect all cable connections and make sure all cables are plugged in securely.
Solution 2	Disconnect the USB cable and AC adapter, wait few minutes and then reconnect them.
Solution 3	Make sure the power LED is illuminated. If not, switch on the power from the rear of the scanner.

Symptom: The ADF feeds several sheets into the scanner at one time.

Symptom: The scanned image shifts or is distorted.
Solution 1	Make sure the documents you wish to scan are properly loaded into the ADF.
Solution 2	Do not load additional paper into the ADF while the unit is feeding and scanning.
Symptom: Streaks appear on ADF scanned images or scanned images are not good enough.
Solution1	Clean the ADF unit or calibrate your scanner again. Refer to "Chapter III. Care and Maintenance" of the Scanner User's Guide for more information.
Symptom: No images are being displayed.
Solution	Make sure you load the paper face down (not face up) into the ADF. For single-sided scans, load the documents face down so that the side to be scanned faces towards the paper chute. For double-sided scans, load the desired page order of documents face down so that the side to be scanned faces towards the paper chute.

How to create searchable PDF documents by DI Capture program?
1.	Click the Windows Start button to launch DI Capture.
2.	Within DI Capture, select this scanner from the drop-down list.
3.	Select a document from the Folder Pane to store the scanned images. (To create a new folder and/or a new document, click the New Folder and/or New Document button from the toolbar.)
4.	Select an appropriate scan profile. (You may click the tab of Scan Settings Pane to check if the current settings of the selected scan profile meet your needs. If not, you may click the Create or Manage button beside the Scan Profile to create a new profile or modify an existing profile.)
5.	Click the Scan-Append button from the toolbar.
6.	Click the Export Wizard... item in the File menu.
7.	Select a searchable PDF File Format (PDF Text, PDF Image-Text, PDF Text-Image) from the drop down list box and then click . (If more than one OCR application program supported by DI Capture are installed on your system, you may need to also select one from the drop-down list box of Application.)
	Some PDF formats may be unavailable on your screen. The availability of PDF formats depends on what OCR application programs supported by DI Capture are installed on your system.
8.	Select settings to recognize the document pages and then click .

How to create searchable PDF documents by DocAction program?
1.	Do one of the following to open the Button Configuration window: ∴Double-click the icon in the Windows system tray. ∴Right-click the icon in the Windows system tray, and then choose Button Configuration... in the pop-up menu that opens.
2.	When the Button Configuration window appears, click any icon in the left pane. Select OCR function from the drop-down list of Button Template. Enter your personal memo in the Description field.
3.	Select an OCR application to convert the scanned images into characters readable by your word processor or text viewer.
4.	Clicking  opens a configuration window for the selected OCR application.
5.	Select Portable Document Format (*.pdf) from the drop-down list of File Format.
6.	(If Application selected in Step 3 is not Readiris, please skip to Step 7.) Click . Select a searchable PDF Type (PDF Text, PDF Image-Text, PDF Text-Image) from the drop-down list box and click .
7.	Check the scan settings and make any required changes.

PDF Text (*.pdf)	-A searchable PDF file type with only the recognized text layer. Its file size is the most compact among all PDF file types.

To uninstall Abbyy FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus:
1.	From the Windows Start menu, point to Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Abbyy FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus, and then click Remove.

How to create searchable PDF documents by DI Capture program?
1.	Click the Windows Start button to launch DI Capture.
2.	Within DI Capture, select this scanner from the drop-down list.
3.	Select a document from the Folder Pane to store the scanned images. (To create a new folder and/or a new document, click the New Folder and/or New Document button from the toolbar.)
4.	Select an appropriate scan profile. (You may click the tab of Scan Settings Pane to check if the current settings of the selected scan profile meet your needs. If not, you may click the Create or Manage button beside the Scan Profile to create a new profile or modify an existing profile.)
5.	Click the Scan-Append button from the toolbar.
6.	Click the Export Wizard... item in the File menu.
7.	Select a searchable PDF File Format (PDF Text, PDF Image-Text, PDF Text-Image) from the drop down list box and then click . (If more than one OCR application program supported by DI Capture are installed on your system, you may need to also select one from the drop-down list box of Application.)
	Some PDF formats may be unavailable on your screen. The availability of PDF formats depends on what OCR application programs supported by DI Capture are installed on your system.
8.	Select settings to recognize the document pages and then click .
9.	(If Application selected in Step 7 is not Readiris, please skip to Step 10.) Configure advanced PDF settings on the page layout and graphics, and then click .
10	Configure the file name and destination folder for the export output, and then click to start OCR processing.
	All pages of the selected document will be exported to the designated destination folder in the selected file format.
How to create searchable PDF documents by DocAction program?
1.	Do one of the following to open the Button Configuration window: Double-click the icon in the Windows system tray. Right-click the icon in the Windows system tray, and then choose Button Configuration..·in the pop-up menu that opens.
2.	When the Button Configuration window appears, click the OCR button on the left pane.
3.	Select an OCR application to convert the scanned images into characters readable by your word processor or text viewer.
4.	Clicking  opens a configuration window for the selected OCR application.
5.	Select Portable Document Format (*.pdf) from the drop-down list of File Format.
6.	(If Application selected in Step 3 is not Readiris, please skip to Step 7.) Click . Select a searchable PDF Type (PDF Text, PDF Image-Text, PDF Text-Image) from the drop-down list box and click .

8.	After all settings are done, click  to accept the settings and exit this Button Configuration window, or click  to save what you have configured and continue adjusting other settings.
9.	Right-click the icon in the Windows system tray, and then choose Execute in the pop-up menu that opens.
10.	Click OCR button function in the pop-up menu.
PDF Options The following PDF file types are available from the drop-down menu:
PDF Text:	A searchable PDF file type with only the recognized text layer. Its file size is the most compact among all PDF file types.

To uninstall Abbyy FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus:
1.	From the Windows Start menu, point to Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Abbyy FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus, and then click Remove.
2.	Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the software.
3.	After uninstallation completes, click the Finish button.

NOTE:	bps = bits per second (8 bits =1 Byte) Most ADSL throughput speed varies, and is dependent on distance and environmental constraints. In most cases the actual throughput is only about 75%. If you are using 56Kbps dial-up, your average speed should be around 4 Kbytes/sec - 6 Kbytes/sec If you are using 512Kbps ADSL, your average speed should be around 40 Kbytes/sec - 50 Kbytes/sec If you are using T1 (1536Kbps) ADSL, your average speed should be 120 Kbytes/sec or higher. Generally, What exactly bandwidth requirement is depends on the number of cameras you want to install and the frame rate in your network.

	Make certain that your Internet Security Software / SPAM software does not hold up outgoing emails. How can I email snapshots based on motion from my camera? Some SMTP servers will require various forms of authorization. One form is to authenticate based upon the sender's-mail address and this is the same as the recipient. It would be best to change the sender's-mail address to an address that matches the SMTP server's domain. Another form of authentication is a user name and password.
Step 1:.	Log into your camera and click on "Server" tab. Go to "Mail Server" and fill out the information and then submit.
	If you tick the ratio button "on", then you need type the "Account ID" and "Password" of the sender for authentication.
Step2:	Go to the EventTrigger> Event; choose the options of "Motion detection 1" and tick the ratio button "Event" under the "send as e-mail".

To schedule video record with notion detection, you must first enable the feature on the network camera Configuration center> EventTrigger or run the ActiveView.exe provided with the CD-ROM. Step 1:	Please identify your computer monitor color displaying mode is above 16 bit true-color. 16 or 256 color you use, as computer color display will be substantially reduced quality of the resulting video quality.
Step 2:	It is not the best about the image quality. Please adjust images through network camera center. Please manually adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and other properties to enhance the image display. All depends on the particular surrounding.

We have provided two ways to view the image of you network camera image. One is through the Internet Explorer directly and the other is via the tool of ActiveView enclosed with the CD-ROM.
View from the IE
Step1:	Open a new Internet Explorer and type the IP address of your network camera in the address bar. Press Enter key.
Step2.	Input your Account ID and Password and click Submit button or press Enter key. (If applicable)
Step3.	At the top, click and install the required ActiveX for this site for the first time. If you are not the first time to login the camera, the live video will be stream. (You should set the ActiveX Viewer first)
View from the ActiveView
Step1.	Run the ActiveView.exe enclosed with the CD-ROM (ActiveView will help you find the network cameras connected with your network)
Step2.	Activate the area where you want to display the image; it supports four windows to see the image of your camera.
Step3.	Select the one from the drop-down menu, you want to view and then click Connect button. (How to utilize ActiveView, please refer to the ActiveView Guide)

Step1:	Please check whether you are using of IP sharing PPPoE to connect to Internet.
Step2.	If yes, please find out IP Address of network camera with " Search Tool " program.
Step3.	While entering IP Sharing device, import IP Address of network camera to DMZ and enable it. (How to access your IP Sharing and configure the DMZ to refer to the device you have used)
Step4.	Apply and Restart IP Sharing, you can enter from outside and see network camera by 82. 20. 2.

Please check whether you are using of IP sharing PPPoE to connect to Internet.
Step1.	When you login in the camera for the first time, please refer to the ActiveX Viewer for the browse security setting in order to get a normal view page.
	If you have the right settings about the options in the "security tab" of the "Internet Options", a picture pops up and prompt you download an ActiveX control.
	Install it, without any misgiving at your camera functions.
Step5:	For the incorrect settings about the ActiveX Viewer or not install the ActiveX control, the picture below displays the result.
	Note that you will need administrative rights on your computer to install ActiveX.

My network camera, everything seems to work fine after the initial setup. However, I launch the ActiveView application and try to add the network camera to the list, The application locked up and I have to end the task in order to use my machine again. I have tried to update the firmware on the unit, but didn't seem to resolve this issue. That's because our firmware has been upgraded with IE program, please Download the newest version from our website. For different version products upon ActiveView , they are not compatible. Our application has been combined with the IE program. The operation about viewing the image is used by the ActiveView:

I am sorry for this. The time displaying on your camera just keeps up with the one's PC whose first be logon the camera. So it may be not as accurate as you expect. However, if you want it to synchronize with your PC, do it by yourself.
Step1.	Access the web-based camera interface.
Step2.	Select the Server menu and then find the NTP server option.
Step3.	Choose the area where you are and Submit the change.

During the live display，you can record, snapshot and other network operations。However you can only backup and playback the stored file.

When you want to use the external part of our device, first ensure the GPIO option in the Event Triggered page has already been selected. And then you should be familiar with principle of this part. There are three connection modes. 1. Pin 2 and Pin 1 2. Pin 2 and Pin 3 3. Pin 2 and Pin 4 As Pin1 and Pin2 are connected, only you loose the connection and join them again there will generate another image. If Pin1 and Pin2 are not connected, Pin3 will be 5v. If they are connected, Pin3 will decrease into 0v. But, whatever they are connected or not, Pin4 will always be 12v, which is similar to one battery.

It is one common phenomenon, as there is an embedded microphone in the network camera. When speaker and microphone get close, they must interfere each other. So just use an earphone or headset instead. Generally, make sure the network cameras are kept away from the speaker more than 30cm.

As we know, Microsoft OS (After win98) does support viewing and operating AP in two different Monitors, which will not affect mutually. How to apply this function:

Step1: Right-click the desktop and then select property from the pop-up menu. Step2: Click the settings tab Step3: Select the secondary video card and then tick the check box “Extend my desktop onto this Monitor”. (Making possible setting here) Step4: Drag/ pull the ActiveView window onto the other Monitor. More detailed information, you can refer to the related website. Condition: 1. Two video cards / one video card supporting two outputs. 2. Configure the video cards, e.g. driver. 3. Two Monitors.

PS: Some old video cards (Especially, old, integrated card) may not support this function and different Monitor may cause some different effect. We just suggest applying this in Window 2000 & XP.

As for the security of IE has been enhanced, and only taking a reference about the “ActiveX Viewer” setting will not work. You can either “Enable” all ActiveX setting in your security of the IE or just follow the below steps

Step1: Open the "Property" of your browser (IE) Step2: Select the "Security" tab. Step3: Choose the "Trusted Sites" and then click "Sites" button. Step4: Add the IP address of the related Network Camera into the trusted website.

Please make sure you are connected through the LAN(PC) port on the NVR from your PC and not the IP Camera Ports.

The OpticFilm series contains SilverFast Software to enhance your scanning experience.

1.Once you complete adding the IP Cameras to the NVR some camera models will automatically reboot itself.  Please check if the camera is still rebooting and refresh the browser when complete.

2.Please select the streaming protocol function bar, at the bottom left corner, to RTP over HTTP in the live view window.

The difference between black and red record files is that red file include event records while black files do not .

As a result of WAN and LAN are in the same IP group , it will have routing problem . Thus NVR will have internet settings error . You need to set WAN and LAN to the different IP group .

Please check if your IP camera has digital PTZ or not . The NVR doesn’t support this kind of PTZ function . You can click these buttons , but they won’t work .

 

1.Please click the refresh button whenever you want to add an IP camera to get the IP camera’s information .

2.Please make sure that IP cameras and LAN are in the same IP group .

 

 

When you enable Advanced>>Schedule settings>>Record Schedule function , it will cause full day record botton grayed-out . You just need to cancel Record Schedule to restart full day record function .

 

If your IP cameras not support IO and Audio Trigger event , you need to add a motion detection first before you add a new event .

Please add a working SMTP and FTP account in network settings . Then you can select Send e-mail notification and Send Image to FTP Server function.
